Rambly Bambly

Why hello there! It's been a while hasn't it? I'd like to say I have an excuse for not blogging, but to be perfectly honest, I've just been lazy (well, no surprises there). A couple eventful things have happened over the past week so I thought I'd let you know about them.

1. Ballroom Dancing
So I don't know if you've read Tashie's blog about her experience of learning Ballroom Dancing with our brother school but I wasn't in her group so we couldn't be awkward potatoes together. :( The entire experience was actually quite fun though! All the boys were really nice and sweet and tried really hard not be awkward (as were we) and there were a couple problems here and there, one being the teacher couldn't teach properly, I mean, if you're going to teach someone how to dance, you'd think which foot to use would be specified, but no. She didn't tell us whether we were going left or right or clockwise or anticlockwise or anything-wise until we stuffed it up so badly. LOL Aside from that, I also had some nice moments with some of the primary school guys that usually revolved around the words "holy shit, Mary, why you so short for?" and "Shut up, (insert name here), why are you so tall for?" Overall, I'd have to say, first Ballroom Dancing class = fun! :D

2. Subject Selection
Okay, on Thursday is was subject selection evening and after that, I'm feeling conflicted about whether to accelerate in Maths or Vietnamese. :( But more about this when I actually decide and ya. :)

3.Masterchef: ANDY WON WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! You can read about how obsessed I was with Masterchef on my Twitter feed during the final. Warning: I was not in a stable mindset at that time. Just sayin'. BUT GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANDDDDYYYYYY!!!! I WAS SO SO HAPPY WHEN HE WON I JUMPED OUT OF MY CHAIR AND STARTED RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE ANNOUNCING TO THE REST OF MY FAMILY "ANDY WON!!" EVEN THOUGH THEY WATCHED IT WITH ME.

4.Big
This is the name of a Korean drama, one of the only ones that I've watched and haven't particularly liked. SPOILER ALERT. I REPEAT, SPOILER ALERT. SPOILERS INCLUDED/PRESENT/STOP READING IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO WATCH THIS DRAMA. POILERS-SAY. (I even said it in pig-latin so you can't blame me anymore). I'm extremely disappointed with the ending of this drama because to be frank, it didn't make any sense. The happy ending was way too forced and there were way too many plotholes everywhere. I mean you have no idea what happens to Kyung Joon's body or Seo Yoon Jae's soul, what happened to their parents, if the miracle worked out, whether Kyung Joon seriously gets him memory back, I mean what the hell? I know you have no idea what I'm ranting about at the moment but if you do ever watch, which I highly recommend you don't even though I'm a big fan or Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung because she's actually quite adorable in the drama, still, don't watch. It basically sets you up for disappointment. Mary no happy.

4.Performance
I have to do a performance at a shopping centre in two weeks to promote my school and  I think I've picked out what songs I'm singing but I need to make sure before I announce it to the webbynet. :) Hint: I think I'm doing a song from Pocahontas :D Anywho, if you haven't realised or are a part of a different part of the world, it's actually almost 4am where I live so I should probably get my ass to sleep so I can study for my Maths test on Monday. Ughhh, why did I even remind myself. :(

Bye sweeties! I'll try my best to blog soon! :)

Aloha!

Ciao bellas! How are we all? I'm pretty great actually. Just finished the first week of term 3 and school homework hasn't piled up that much. Well, before I go into detail about all the things you MOST DEFINITELY need to know about me, I must apologise for not blogging for about 3 weeks. I was just so lazy and out of it on the holidays, I seriously was basically hibernating and watching old Disney movies and Korean dramas. Alright, fine, so a couple eventful things happened to me on the holidays and I will not proceed to blog about them all because I know you care. HAHAHAHHAHHANO.

Experience Days
So I signed up for a couple of Experience Days at a Uni to see what it was like. I already told you about he first one which was the hospital visit where I got to touch organs. The second one I went to was a Marketing, Advertising and PR Experience day which was quite fun and I learnt a lot. For marketing, we had to identify the target market of a certain product that will be coming out next year in Australia. (Yeah, that's right, we go to see it first cos we special kids). In our Advertising workshop, we had to come up with a slogan for that very same product and in our PR workshop, we had to create an event using as much money and facilities as we wanted to promote that product. It was really fun to try and think outside the box and our teachers were old hilarious men! One was even Scottish which gave me huge Brave feels. :D

The third one I went to was a Community Justice Day which was quite good. We had a few workshops: Youth Work, Social Work, Legal Department and something else I can't remember. :( Well, I really loved the Social Work activity which was really getting into this character named Sandy who was troubled in every single way and learning the psychological techniques to try and help her and support her in her situation. It was really interesting and I'm considering it as something I'd like to do in the future. I also loved the Legal Department activity because it was a nice little play of Sleeping Beauty Vs. Prince Charming in court which was awesome. The Prince was charged with assault for kissing Sleeping Beauty without her permission. Even though, Prince Charming saved his kingdom and obviously didn't mean to hurt Sleeping Beauty, he was still charged with assault because whether Prince charming saved the kingdom or not, Sleeping Beauty was still kissed without her permission. It was hilarious and they gave us lollies in the end so that's always fantastic! :D

The fourth experience day I went to was a Health and Medical Sciences day which was quite fun but probably not something I'd end up doing in life. We had about seven workshops and I'm way too lazy to list them all but I met lots of really nice people but forgot to get their emails. Oh well! Even our dearest Kimmo came! :D

TASHIEEEEE DEAREST'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
Firstly, I'd like to apologise to 'Lunga' (only she will get this, sorry) for not posting a happy birthday NATASHA post sooner. So, for Tashie's birthday, she took us out for burritos which we ate with all the grace of the Queen. (Only Ellen did, actually). Tash and I, on the other hand had stuff raining from our burritos on to our table and everything. We also went to see The Amazing Spiderman 4 which had Tashie fangirling all the way home, that crazy girl. Anywho, thank you for a wonderful day, Tashie and I hope you had an even better day even though we were all feeling a little down in the dumps that week and I hope you enjoy your present! ;) That I swear will eventually be coming. I swear. I promise. :D LOVE YOU!

First week of school:
My first week of school has been pretty fun actually. Not too much homework piling up so far so that's good. My electives this semester are Drama (FUDGE YESSSS) and Multimedia which isn't too bad because the teacher is very chill and calls me "Specs" because I have white specs. LOLOL Isn't he just hilarious? Anywho, it's the dreaded doomsday for me tomorrow so that means tutor, viet school and piano tomorrow. :( WAAAHHHHH! Alright, I'm going to go work on my English powerpoint and practise piano. Bye dearests!

It's great to be back! Hope to blog soon! :D love you guys, stay safe and well, and keep warm this shite ass winter!

Happy Birthday Kimberley!

Good evening pastry puffs! How are we all? I've been extremely lazy for the entire day basically just reading Wattpad and doing a couple of chores here and there. In fact, in this very moment of time, I'm watching my brother exercise and suffer as I watch Gary make beautiful meat pies on Masterchef. hehehe Well, anywho, it was my friend, Kimberley's birthday party which was very fun and exciting since I got to see most of my school friends again. :) We went to a buffet and the food was absolutely yummmmmmmmmo yumm yum! The dessert, especially, was fantastic. OH MY GOD, THE CHEESECAKE WAS TO DIE FOR. I wish I wrapped that shit up in a napkin, Asian mum style. I also reunited with a friend I met way back in grade three at a piano concert and I met her yesterday so that was very nice! :) We also played laser skirmish which was lotsa fun and I came 2nd in my team which is some sort of achievement, I guess. Another lovely thing that happened was that Kimberley liked the present I gave her so woop! :)

I'm actually way too lazy to blog right now, I'm watching Leap Year, which is one of my favourite movies even though I've seen it about two or three times now. :)

Stay classy beautiful people! ;D

Eventful

Why hello there deary pies! How are you all doing today? It's absolutely freezing where I live right now, I'm rugged up in about four jackets and two of them aren't mine. Today was actually quite a nice day though, the sun was out and the clouds were really nice and :)

Sooo, yesterday I went on a Experience day at the local children's hospital organised by a certain university to see if I consider doing laboratory medicine in the future. Yeah, um no. It was fun to see all the labs and it looked really cool but I think I'm just the kind of person who couldn't sit in an office all day. The labs were freaking fantastic though. We got to see the haematology lab which was cool as hell because there was this tube airway pathway like that tube thing in Futurama and they transport specimens using that pathway. There's three different pathways and there's one special one reserved for the blood bank and the machine can detect whether the airways are clear and then automatically just launch it. We also got to visit the bacteriology lab and we got to look and different agar plates and we got to see some E-coli and some other stuff I can't remember but Tash probably will. We also got to look at the actual place where they store the blood and I had the urge to touch it but Tash said that it was weird. Umm :/ We also got to see how they detect a blood group by looking at clumping patterns with different antigens which looked really fun to do. :) We also go to have a look at this machine that could do about 25 different tests on someone's blood in 5 minutes. The machine can tell whether you've eaten 'fatty' foods or not or umm, other stuff I sort of zoned out on while the lady was explaining.

The cooolest and a little bit disturbing part of the entire thing was the anatomical research lab. Basically, when we walked in there were 5 different anatomical specimens lined up on the table. There was a brain with a tumour in it, it felt squishy and not as firm as I thought it would be. It was a yellow-greenish colour and didn't smell too good. The second one was a liver, also with a tumour, and it just looked weird. It was sliced up so you could see the inside and it was the same colour of chicken liver so basically what you would imagine a liver looked like. The third one was probably the creepiest, it was a 2kg ovarian cyst from a 15 year old girl who thank the Lord and the doctors that girl is breathing, it was extremely disturbing to touch it but I did it anyway. You could see the fallopian tubes and the entire thing was dyed blue to help when looking at the specimen from a microscopical view so it just looked really gruesome. The fourth specimen was a kidney, either with a tumour or extremely damaged, but either way, pretty normal looking kidney. The fifth one was a humungous heart from a 10 year old's body. He got a heart transplant because his heart was too big and had to work too hard to pump the blood around his body, and as the heart is a muscle, it also got bigger. The heart looked really strange, somehow it looked like it had been carved out of a tree or something. Pretty scary stuff.

After all this happened, my friend Hong came for a sleepover! :) We basically spent the night watching Running Man the Korean variety show. I thought it'd just be like an Amazing Race but it's actually a little bit different, it's super super super funny and the games and simply stupid making everything hilarious. It's seriously such a good show! There's 101 episodes so I'm really behind, I'm only on episode 13 and my brother is on episode 20 because he did an all-nighter today. He just slept the sun away, IDIOT. After staying up to about 2am, we went to sleep and woke up and around 11. We then proceeded to walk my wonderful dog, Tam. He was doing such a great job and giving us awesome exercise until he decided to escape from his leash and run away. Thank bejeebus he knew the way home because he was heading straight there (I swear he's got some good sniffing skills) and when I was finally able to catch up to him. He was patiently sitting at the doorstep. Well. At least I know he'll always come home. :) I let him in and ya know, didn't give him a treat like he would usually get because he ran away. We then decided to wash Tam. YAY! :) He was actually quite calm so good for us. After a generous lathering of Head and Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Scalp Shampoo he sunbaked it the sun and got attacked by the hair dryer.

Getting super bored with the lack of entertainment facilities at my humble abode, we made Banana fritters. OH MY HOLY SWEET LORD, THESE THINGS WERE BLOODY GLORIOUS. Okay, I'll show you how to make them in the next post. Halfway through making them, we realised we needed some ice-cream to go with this so I went to IGA and got some and bumped in to Tash! I know, what a coincidence! Bloody telepathic brainwaves or something we got here. I got me ice-cream, went home and enjoyed the beauty that is a banana fritter soaked in vanilla ice-cream. After that, we watched the Big Bang Theory and watched tv and read fanfiction until she went home. Okay! That is basically my day.

I have a birthday party to attend tomorrow! Woo! I'm a little bit excited, apparently there's supposed to be some fuss over what I'm supposed to wear because the dress code is semi-formal/neat casual. Umm, sorry, but what in the universe is that supposed to mean? I think I'm just going to look outside the window tomorrow morning and ponder the possible weather events that could happen and decide from their with other influencing factors being my mood and my health. Alright, time to go and shower power. So I will see you all very soon I hope! :)

LOVE YOU DEARY PIE! CIAO!

HOLIDAYS

Good morning to you all! I'm so sorry for leaving you for about 2 weeks, I was just so lazy and really I have no excuse. :( So I willingly accept any punishment. (Please be nice even if I don't deserve it? (brings out the puppy dog eyes I wish actually worked)* But it's not all bad news because it's HOLIDAYS which I get to PARTAYYY ALL DAY EVERY DAY and by PARTAYY  I actually mean stay at home and watch Disney movies and Korean dramas. (Ooohhh, it's gotta be a good life) And it also means that I have lotsa and lotsa free time to blog and surf the web. Who even says that anymore? I mean who would even come up with such a thing? When you think about logically, wouldn't you spin a web? I'd understand if the 'web' was called 'wave' and then you could surf the wave and that would make sense. I don't even know where I'm getting this from. Maybe these are Mary's unique symptoms from recovering from a fever. Or I'm just a little bit loopy today.

I just went to vaccuum the house halfway through writing this blog post so my mum won't tell me to do any more chores for today and she'll make my brother do them since he's not even awake yet. Heeheeeeheee :) Well, I vaccuumed to the the Macarena song and I must say, I have never loved vaccuuming more. HAHAHAH. It made everything so much more lively, maybe this is what I should listen to while doing homework. I doubt that would work though, I'd probably just break into doing the Macarena or some stuffed up version of the Nutbush in my bedroom. Well. So if you haven't realised by now, I'm a little bit insane. But insane me is a lot more interesting than serious, hardworking (ahem, cough, LOLNO) me.

Alright, enough about me, how are you? I usually ask this at the beginning, I feel so inconsiderate now. I'm sorry, forgive me. Especially you, Kimberly, you poor thing. I hope you get better really really really soon so you can enjoy your holidays! Get lots and lots of sleep and stay warm! :) And Natasha, I hope you're getting better too! Your thoughts are too funny and awesome to not be voiced! And to everyone else who is sick or who gets sick during this horrible Australian winter, I hope you get better and enjoy school holidays! :)

A whole lot of events have happened since I was gone so I'm going to try and explain them as briefly as possible.

  • School Soiree Night -This was such a fun night. Everyone who performed was absolutely fantastic and the choir and the concert band were angels and everything was just really lovely. It was my second time performing at one of these things, I decided to sing "When Will My Life Begin" from the Disney musical "Tangled." One of my favourite Disney movies EVER. :D After my performance I got lots of compliments so either I did so bad they felt the need to console me or I did something right. Apparently, I had the cutest performance though. That may have been because I was the youngest. HAHHAHA, overall, awesome night! :)
  • Brainy Bees - So this was a competition to test schools on their knowledge of neuroscience. We completely fluked the online multiple choice test, I seriously didn't even know that the test was that day until the announcement. We totally aced everything and our school is going the finals. HAHAHAHA, NO. We were totally just having fun, writing down the stupidest answers and trying not to let other schools look at our papers in fear of embarrassment.                                                                                                         I also had to say a speech about this with my wonderful friend, Tracy, who had the funniest speech ever! I was reflecting on this speech a little bit before, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I sounded like a news reporter during my little part of the speech because I was so nervous and was so concentrated on trying to get the freaking words out as clearly as possible. So my intonation was fu*&^$&7d. HEHHE. But Brainy Bees was really fun and we got to see the anatomy museum which is a rare experience in one's lifetime and it was disturbing and really cool at the same time. I mean, there was a cross-section of a baby...which died because he/she was born without a skull. That was probably the most disturbing thing out of it all. And there was this real, dead arm. The liquid that used to be in the arm had been drained out and replaced with silicon so it felt sort of like plastic but it seriously just felt weird as heck. But cool.
  • Brave - OH MY LORD. BRAVE WAS AWESOME, FANTASTIC, MESMERISING, TERRIFIC, MARVELLOUS,  AMAZING JUST PURE DISNEY PIXAR BRILLIANCE. I loved it so much. I didn't think I could love anything more after Tangled, but Brave and Tangled are now equal. Merida has the most beautiful hair ever. And her brothers are the cutest little things and nawwwww. And her parents, especially her dad, Fergus, is just the sweetest, funniest, dopiest dad ever. SPOILER ALERT. I REPEAT SPOILER ALERT. SERIOUSLY, I'M GOING TO PUT THIS IS BLACK FONT SO ONLY WHEN YOU HIGHLIGHT IT YOU CAN SEE. SO GO WATCH IT. AND THEN READ THE REST OF THIS LITTLE SPIEL ABOUT BRAVE AND UNDERSTAND MY FEELS. I love how she's the one Disney princess who doesn't find that special one true love and the movie is based on family love and tradition and it's just so beautiful. I was on the verge of tears in a couple parts in the movie. Tash and I were trying our hardest not to cry and our friend, Mariya was giving us sympathetic looks. I also now have a new appreciation for folk music.
  • The Family Law - I read Benjamin Law's sort of autobiography 'The Family Law' and it was one of the most hilarious books I've ever read. I'd tell you more but then I'd be spoiling it so go go go! read read read!!
  • Art scores - The other day my 3D art teacher let us look at our scores for the class and I was so surprised by my marks because I've never been the arty type. I'm more the reading writing type but apparently I'm an B+/A student in 3D art. I did not see that coming. Not at all. But I'm happy because I had lots of fun in the subject and my teacher was the sweetest and I'm going to miss it a lot. The classes were so relaxed and fun and just :)
  • 21 Jump St - I watched 21 Jump St and I must say, it was not what I expected. I expected it to be really offensive, stupid humour but it actually wasn't that bad. I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. It was freaking hilarious, I thought there would a lot of pointless fighting scenes just cause but there was an actual storyline and it was well written. And Channing Tatum in a Potassium Nitrate jacket was the cutest thing. HAHAHHA. Watch it and you'll get it.
I think there's more things that happened but I can't remember anymore. Sozzy. :( I've got to go get changed because mum and Tim want to go shopping. Well. I'm not really a fan of shopping. Yes, believe it or not. I really just don't like shopping. I get too lazy to try stuff on and I'm really indecisive so sometimes I don't want anything or I want everything or I can't decide between two, realise I don't want either and go home without anything. I don't hate shopping, I just don't like shopping for myself. I do need to get my friend a birthday present though so yeah. Welp, this is the longest post I've written in a while so I hope this compensates a little. :) I'll still accept punishment though...(gulp).

BYE, LOVE YOU ALL! STAY WARM, STAY WELL! SINGING IN THE RAIN, WHAT A GLORIOUS FEELING. Wait, no, you'll get sick. Don't do that. Unless you've got aabout 500 layers of clothes and another 200 layers of raincoats covering yourself and in that case, sing away. :D <3

And I'll leave you with this Alex Day's beautiful music video. To make you feel better since it's been raining cats and dogs and snakes and lizards and giraffes and hippos and meerkats and sharks since morning.

Hope that made you feel a little better about the weather. :)

MAARY.
